PAN (In 2 Parts)

Date: 2009
Size: 240 x 45 x 49 cm,
Medium:
Steel, two Super 8mm projectors, Super 8mm film

Description: In Pan (in 2 Parts), is a film of a horizontal piece of string that cuts across the screen. Two projectors are connected by the single loop of film, creating a split screen, and, as the film travels from one projector to the next, the image is flipped (the left projectors runs forward with the image upside down the right projector runs in reverse with the image the correct way up ) in order to create a continuous loop. There is a sense of tension between the pair of screens as the strings fail to create an even horizon line.
